We need to have a serious talk about Creator Connections, and if you’re an Amazon influencer or an Amazon affiliate you’re probably going to want to bookmark this one and come back to it. There’s a lot to unpack, and most of it isn’t the kind of thing that fits in a comment reply.

Here’s the short version: Creator Connections is not an infinite space. It has a cap. And that cap is filling up a lot faster than most people in this community realize.

The Room Has Four Walls

The mental model I want you to have is a room. Four sides, a door, and a fire-code limit on how many people can be inside at once. Creator Connections is that room. It is not a platform where everybody shows up and there’s no cap — there is a specific number of participants that can fit, and once the room is at capacity, the campaigns you want are gone before you get to them.

Let’s say the room holds 100 people. That’s not a literal number, it’s a way of talking about capacity as a percentage. Keep that in your head for the next section, because the numbers are the whole story here.

From 14 People in the Room to 88 in Nine Months

When I go back through my reports to November of 2025 — about nine and a half months ago — that room had roughly 14 and a half people in it. Plenty of space. Seventy-six more people could have walked in the door and nobody would have felt crowded.

Now fast forward to September 2026. That same room is sitting at about 88 people on average. We went from 14 and a half to 88 in nine and a half months.

And here’s the part that matters: the room itself grew during that time. Amazon has kept expanding Creator Connections. But the number of people trying to get in was growing faster than the number of campaigns and slots Amazon was releasing per day. That pattern really started to accelerate around March of 2026 and peaked in June and July. The claim rate roughly 3.5x’d from November 2025 to that June–July window.

August actually slowed down a bit — the fill rate decreased relative to that summer peak — but it’s still climbing. Even in the last week it moved up another point or so, from around 86% to about 87.7%. So it’s not accelerating like it was in June and July. It’s still going the same direction.

If you’ve been in the Amazon influencer program a while, those numbers probably just confirmed something you already felt. You can see fewer campaigns available. You can feel the room getting tight during product research. The data isn’t telling you something new — it’s telling you that the thing you noticed is real.

Why the Campaign Count at the Top of the Page Is Lying to You

People look at that big campaign number at the top of the Creator Connections page and think the opportunity is expanding proportionally. It isn’t. Two reasons:

  • The number is climbing, but not fast enough to keep up with how many people are coming in behind it.
  • A huge chunk of those campaigns are duplicates. One brand alone has something like 8,000 campaigns by itself. That’s one advertiser inflating the number you’re using to judge the size of the opportunity.

So when you’re doing your daily cross-checks and it feels like there’s less there than the headline number suggests — you’re right. The headline number is not a measure of how much room you have.

Creator Connections Was Never Built for Us

This is worth remembering. Creator Connections was not designed for Amazon influencers, and it definitely was not designed for on-site storefront videos. It was built for people driving traffic from their own social platforms over to Amazon. Off-site affiliates.

We all showed up and started trying to squeeze into a room that was built for a different crowd, and now we’re competing with that original crowd plus each other. There are contributing factors pushing more people in from both sides — the influencer community and the off-site affiliate community. That’s why the fill rate looks the way it does.

Amazon might address this. I actually think they will. But I don’t have evidence that they’re going to, and neither do you. They could intervene, or they could let the room fill up and let whatever happens happen. All we can go on is the data in front of us, which says the room is overcrowded — not completely full, but getting fuller.

This Program Worked Before Creator Connections — And It Still Works

If you’ve only been around a year and a half, this probably sounds terrifying, because your entire understanding of this business has revolved around Creator Connections. That’s what everyone told you was the most important thing. I told you that too — my own product research started and stopped there until a couple of months ago.

So let me put this in perspective. It wasn’t until the beginning of 2025 that Amazon influencers even widely realized Creator Connections was something we could use. The massive influx of influencers in 2023 and 2024 had nothing to do with Creator Connections earnings. It was all on-site influencer commission.

So whatever happens with Creator Connections going forward, do not confuse “Creator Connections is in trouble” with “this whole opportunity is in trouble.” Those are not the same sentence. The program was working fine before most of us knew Creator Connections existed.

What I Actually Changed in My Own Business

About two months ago, when I could feel the room getting crowded, I started looking at non-Creator-Connections products again. Which is exactly what I was doing back in 2024 when I made my first $10,000 month.

That first 10K was basically all on-site commission. I made maybe $200 or $300 from Creator Connections, and honestly that was by accident. The rest was pure Amazon influencer commission. And that’s what I’ve come back to.

It’s been going well, and I think I know why: nobody cares about non-Creator-Connections products right now. Everyone is crowded into the same room fighting over the same campaigns, which means there’s a pile of opportunity sitting on regular Amazon products with far less competition for visibility. Some of those products are making me more than the Creator Connections products are.

You don’t get those as free samples, sure. But samples were never the name of the game. If that’s news to you, go back and watch a few more of my videos.

What I Did Not Change

I want to be clear that I am not abandoning Creator Connections. Most of my product research still happens there, and my day-to-day routine on that side is basically unchanged:

  1. I still do my Creator Connections cross-checks every single day, to make sure I’m claiming the campaigns that match content already on my storefront.
  2. I let Oink handle the watching. We just shipped a feature that automatically checks for new campaigns as they roll out, pops up when one matches your storefront, and can accept it on your behalf. In a room that’s 88% full, being the person who finds out first is most of the advantage.
  3. I message brands I already work with when a campaign I want is full, and ask them to open a new one. That works more often than you’d think.

That’s it. The mechanics didn’t change. What changed is that Creator Connections no longer gets 100% of my attention.

What This Means for You

Expand your thought process. Think bigger than Creator Connections. Keep using it — still do the research, still do the cross-checks, still claim what fits your storefront. But I would stop relying on it as the whole business.

And notice that this recommendation is safe in both directions. If I’m wrong and the data reverses and the room opens back up, you’re not worse off — you just spent a few months building a wider business that makes money from more places. If I’m right and the room keeps tightening, you’re in a dramatically better position than the people who put every egg in that one basket.

Here’s the part that stung a little for me personally. I had been telling my own origin story for a year and a half — that my first $10,000 month happened without Creator Connections — and a couple months ago I finally heard myself say it out loud and went, “oh, wait a minute. That works.” Creator Connections got so much hype over the last several months that I forgot the rest of the program works too.

Here’s the full breakdown on video if you want to hear me walk through the numbers:

If you want to stop guessing which products are worth your time — inside Creator Connections or outside of it — that’s exactly what I built Oink to do. Find the openings before the room fills up.

And if you’re seeing something different in your own numbers, tell me. I changed my mind on this once already, so I’m clearly capable of doing it again.
